Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is becoming increasingly popular, but that doesn’t mean that all doctors are equally qualified to prescribe it. To get the most from you bioidentical hormones, you need a physician who has the training and education to fully understand how your hormones work together — and with all the other systems in your body.

Dr. Agnello transitioned into integrative and functional medicine to treat his patients using preventive techniques to improve their overall health and wellness. Instead of using prescription drugs to simply treat symptoms, Dr. Agnello helps his patients correct the underlying issues at their source and uses preventive techniques to help them avoid health complications later on in life. He firmly believes that the changes associated with aging can not only be slowed, but in many cases significantly reversed.

Dr. Maehara uses a combination of integrative therapies, including customized nutrition and fitness regimens, pharmaceutical-grade supplementation, stress reduction techniques and natural bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), to restore his patients’ energy, improve their mental clarity and help them live the best life possible.

While practicing as a Family Physician, Dr. Melinda Silva witnessed first-hand the waning quality of health in women and men over the age of 35. Her concerns grew as she learned that many of her patients were seeking help form specialists who prescribed risky medications and recommended surgeries for preventable conditions most often bought on by poor nutrition, lack of exercise and hormonal imbalances related to aging.

“It’s all about lifestyle. The more effort you put into living a healthy life, the longer you’ll live and the better you’ll feel because of it. While diet and exercise are critical components of a healthy lifestyle, it’s also important to take a look at sleep patterns, stress levels, nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivities and other factors that could potentially lead to health challenges later on in life.”

As an endocrinologist, I was accustomed to treating patients who were in the more advanced stages of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and obesity. I knew that there was a lot of going on beneath the surface, most of which wasn’t taught by conventional medicine. I wanted the opportunity to help patients really optimize their health, so I started attending seminars and looking into different programs that offered preventive care and that is how I found the A4M.

For the past 20 years, I have worked with patients in geriatric stages that have missed the opportunity for preventative health. With BodyLogicMD, I am able to help my patients take proactive steps towards optimal health, giving them the ability to age gracefully and improve mobility, memory, libido and overall vitality.

The main problem with today’s healthcare is that as physicians, we’re typically trained on how to take care of women and men once they’re already sick, with little knowledge of how to prevent disease in the first place. That’s why integrative and functional medicine is so exciting for me, because now I have the opportunity to help women and men prevent diseases and health challenges, through the implementation of proactive wellness regimens, helping them achieve optimal overall health.

During my 14 years in Emergency Medicine, I got to see the worst of the worst – the end stages of a lot of different diseases. While it was wonderful to help these people, I started wondering what could be done to prevent these health challenges from a defensive standpoint. With integrative and regenerative medicine, I’m able to help my patients not only avoid disease, but also achieve an optimal overall quality of health.
