Q:

I am 42 and have taken birth control for the majority of my life. I stopped taking it when I was 35 and trying to have children. I am starting to feel anxious and depressed and my doctor thinks that it’s my hormones, particularly perimenopause. He discussed some treatment options, which included hormone replacement therapy. Does it make a difference if I’ve taken birth control in the past? Is birth control considered hormone therapy?
